Honey Harvest!

September 1 is when we remove the honey supers (The boxes of honey at the top of the hive that contain the honey that we harvest for ourselves.)  We remove them now so that the bees have time to make enough honey to eat over the winter.  We were warned when we started keeping bees that we probably wouldnt have a harvest for the first few years, as it takes time for the bees to build out the honeycomb and to start to create honey.  There are several things that could happen throughout the year
